Nagoya is the prefectural capital of Aichi Prefecture in the central part of Japan. It is a major city in Japan located between Tokyo and Osaka.

History

It was the hometown of the historically famous Sengoku warlords Oda Nobunaga, Toyotomi Hideyoshi and Tokugawa Ieyasu.

It is also famous as a city of manufacturing, with the headquarters of Toyota Motor Corporation and many Toyota-affiliated companies located in Aichi Prefecture.

Foods

It is also famous as a food town. There are many local specialties such as hitsumabushi, miso katsu, tenmusu, miso nikomi udon, chicken wings, kishimen and fried shrimp.

TRANSPORTATION

here three major train operators in the city, Nagoya Municipal Subway, Central Japan Railway (JR) and Nagoya Railway (Meitetsu). 

People live in Nagoya mainly use the subway network.

The Higashiyama Line (yellow line) is the most important subway line, followed by the Meijo Line (purple line), Sakuradori Line (red line) and Marunouchi Line (blue line).

The most used stations are connected by the Higashiyama Line (yellow line) such as Nagoya Station, Sakae Station, Chikusa Station, Kakuozan Station, Hoshigaoka Station and Fujigaoka Station.
